As Jesus was starting out on his way to Jerusalem, a man came running up to him, knelt down and asked, Good teacher, what must I do to inherit eternal life? 18. Why do you call me good? Jesus asked. Only God is truly good. 19. But to answer your question, you know the commandments: You must not murder. You must not commit adultery. You must steal. You must not testify falsely. You must not cheat anyone. Honor your father and mother. 20. Teacher, the man replied, Ive obeyed all these commandments since I was young. 21. Looking at the man, Jesus felt genuine love for him. There is still one thing you havent done, he told him. Go and sell all your possessions and give the money to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come, follow me. 22. At this the mans face fell, and he went away sad, for he had many possessions. F. 3) Rom 3:23 For everyone has sinned; we all fall short of Gods glorious standard.

With one blow let me pay back the Philistines for the loss of my two eyes. 29. Then Samson put his hands on the two center pillars that held up the temple. Pushing against them with both hands, 30. he prayed, Let me die with the Philistines. And the temple crashed down on the Philistine rulers and all the people. So he killed more people when he died than he had during his entire lifetime. 31. Later his brothers and other relatives went down to get his body. They took him back home and buried him between Zorah and Eshtaol, where his father, Manoah, was buried. Samson had judged Israel for twenty years. I Samuel 31:1-6: 1.Now the Philistines attacked Israel, and the men of Israel fled before them. Many were slaughtered on the slopes of Mount Gilboa. 2. The Philistines closed in on Saul and his sons, and they killed three of his sons Jonathan, Abinadab, and Malkishua. 3. The fighting grew very fierce around Saul, and the Philistine archers caught up with him and wounded him severely. 4. Saul groaned to his armor bearer,Take your sword and kill me before these pagan Philistines come to run me through and taunt and torture me.But his armor bearer was afraid and would not do it. So Saul took his own sword and fell on it. 5. When his armor bearer realized that Saul was dead, he fell on his own sword and died beside the king. 6. So Saul, his three sons, his armor bearer, and his troops all died together that same day. So he took the thirty pieces of silver back to the leading priests and the elders. 4. I have sinned, he declared, for I have betrayed an innocent man. What do we care? they retorted. Thats your problem. 5. Then Judas threw the silver coins down in the Temple and went out and hanged himself. 6.The leading priests picked up the coins. It wouldnt be right to put this money in the Temple treasury, they said, since it was payment for murder. 7. After some discussion they finally decided to buy the potters field, and they made it into a cemetery for foreigners. 8. That is why the field is still called the Field of Blood. 9.
