The last part of the book defames Brahmin community and narrates some unheard of
incidents-their torture of the sudras.
The writers of Oh you Hindu Awake, Prof. Hadwa Dom and Dr R.K. Chatterji, have
defamed the Hindu gods, goddesses and leaders in a very abusive tone in their
book. The copies were allegedly distributed among the people in a missionary
programme at G. Udayagiri township under Kandhamal district. One person has been
arrested and placed behind the bar under section 153 (A) (promoting enmity between
classes) of the Indian Penal Code.
The complaint (FIR) has been lodged by the Hindus in the police station and the
report of the police in this regard reveals that Christian missionaries organised
a 3-day-long camp popularly known as "Jungle camp" at G. Udayagiri township from
October 24 to 26. In this camp, many pastors, bishops and other Christians took
part. Local Hindus, specially dalits were also invited to this programme.
According to the eyewitnesses, the speakers delivered provocative speeches full of
caste feelings. They also distributed some books in which different leaders and
national heroes are criticised in filthy ways. As the locals complained to the
police, one book distributor Amit Roul was arrested.
The copy of the alleged book, available with this correspondent, is full of
defamatory and filthy abuse. This 77-page-book is written by Prof. Hadwa Dom and
Dr R.K. Chatterji and published by Dalitasthan journal, Save Hinduism campaign
Committee, 16, Bankim Chandra Chatterjee Street, Kolkata. It is free from
copyright and prepared for mass circulation.
From the very beginning the book attempts it's best to defame some frontline Hindu
organisations and their iconic figures. The authors have made notorious attempts
to widen the gap between different castes. The then Puri Seer, Shankaracharya
Swami Niranjan Dev Tirth, has vehemently been criticised in this book. (pages 18,
19, 40 & 41). On page 43, Satya Sai Baba, Acharya Rajneesh, Swami Dhirendra
Brahmachari have been defamed like "Don't you see how these people fool and cheat
the world." The last part of the book defames Brahmin community and narrates some
unheard of incidents-their torture of the sudras. As it has become apparent from
the above facts that the missionary people have stepped down to a new path, i.e.
"Divide the Hindus and convert them easily". The book in its front page exhorts
again and again to distribute the copies among Hindu people and not to decorate
book-shelves with them.
