A. Introduction A1. Purpose The purpose of this project is to provide all five sites of Whiterun Medical Center, (North, East, South, West, and the Main Site respectively) with Networking capabilities to and from one-another. A2. Overview Within a fixed time period, Aperture Technologies plans to demonstrate a working Network simulation, Cost, Network implementation, Time Duration for Completion, and Approval from Whiterun Medical Center. A2.1. Standards Requirements A3. Estimated Schedule of Completion B. Goals and Objectives The Goal for Aperture Technologies is to upgrade and implement a better wide area network for Whiterun Medical Center by: Upgrading current servers o Adding a FTP server o Adding an Exchange Server o Adding a Active Directory Server Adding a wireless network Updating security Administrative Training to staff

C. Network Security

C1. Permissions Permissions will be set within shared folders for doctors and their respective nurses to access and keep files up-to-date. Doctors, as well as nurses, shall have their own individual folder within the FTP server with individual permissions for each user. Client confidentiality is top priority to protect all clients private information from any security risks. C1.1 Physical and Logical Access Doctors and nurses shall have permission to connect to the physical network. Once connected to the Active Directory only the administrator will have the ability to change any permission within the network. Servers will be kept in an IT/Telecom room to keep away from the main floor to prevent any accidental tampering. Room access shall be limited to personnel such as: Domain Administrators, IT staff, and any other personnel hired/trained as backup administrators when Domain Administrators are not available. C1.2 Wireless Network Security Wireless connectivity will be available to users within the Active Directory list to access from a remote location. WPA/WPA2 encryption will be implemented to insure the best security to prevent any unauthorized access to the network. If unauthorized access is discovered, then the addition of MAC address filtering will help rectify the problem. C2. Firewall Both hardware and software firewalls will be incorporated into the network to enhance security. Firewalls within the router shall be configured to deny any access from outside traffic to enter the network without permission. Software firewalls will also have a filter to prevent certain sites to be access to prevent any computer contamination/viruses to cause private information to be compromised.

D. Network Maintenance D1. Software Update All system software will be updated and maintained through the installation of schedule list, automatic system service pack installation, and system upgrades during closed hours of business. All large system patches will be tested on a limited number of computers before entire network installation to determine whether the patches affect any vital resources used in day to day operations. D2. Hardware Installation and Expansion Network downtime will be scheduled only after hours when most suitable to our clients needs. A notification of at least 48 hours prior to any installation will be required to notify staff and allow for proper preparation to be made. D3. Disaster Recovery The way that we are going to be backing up all the data is by a cloud service provided by IDrive Pro for Business. IDrive assists healthcare providers to be HIPAA compliant in the following manner: Unauthorized access to individually identifiable health records is strictly forbidden; data is encrypted and transmitted securely to a vault that resides at a world-class data center that is insured to provide data protection service. Logical access to the data is strictly controlled with a secure user interface using which, you can set password policies and assign users rights for backup management of specific servers. Access through the web does not permit a user to view the contents of data. D4. Administrative Training Several employees from Whiterun Medical Centers Sites will be chosen to receive basic network administrative training, but we do feel that hiring an experienced technician would be the better way to go. If the former is chosen, the selected employees will be trained in: Basic Programs Deployment How to create New Users Basic Administrative Tasks

We will provide these lessons within a 3 day time period. We do also guarantee full technical support if needed. E. Cost

F. Summary F1. Demonstration We will be providing an individual demonstration of a basic user performing some of the tasks mentioned in section B (Objectives).
