The Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung Launches a Call for Applications for Participants

Political Academy for Progressive Youth 2012 The Political Academy is designed as a combination of political education and training for leadership skills. The main purpose of the Academy is to educate and train individuals in Kosovo who have progressive ideas and progressive vision about the Kosovo society based on the values: freedom, social justice and solidarity, equality and antidiscrimination. The Political Academy shall provide to its participants theoretical knowledge and development of practical skills in political culture, political management and skillful communication. The general aim of the Political Academy is to enable the active, bright and visionary young people to participate in a condensed program of political education and training on crucial issues. These goals will be achieved within the five weekend-seminars, in the period from April to October 2012. Terms and Conditions for participation We are inviting for participation in the Political Academy: 1. Every citizen of Kosovo at the age 20-30, who is studying and/or is active in the public life in Kosovo (NGOsector, private sector etc.) 2. Who has active knowledge of English language (in speaking and writing) 3. Who is engaged or intends to be active in social and political life in Kosovo 4. Who shares the values outlined above (freedom, social justice and solidarity, equality and antidiscrimination) 5. Who has basic knowledge of social sciences, politics and political terminology Application Formalities 1. 2. CV together with contact details Letter of motivation in English (max 1 page A4, Times new roman 12, paragraph 1.5)

Selection of candidates Selection of candidates will be done in two phases. In the first phase the selection will be made on the basis of personal achievements (including academic education, informal education, work experience and internships) mentioned in the CV and the letter of motivation. Participants from both gender and all ethnic and religious groups in Kosovo are encouraged to apply. Qualified candidates will be invited to an interview in the period from 13.02.-02.03.2012. Interviews will be conducted in local languages and English. Participants selected for the Political Academy will be informed at the latest by 17.03.2011. At the end of the Political Academy participants will receive a certificate upon completing all courses and evaluation procedures related to each course.
