HISTORY

Hyderabad. . .
The Hyderabad city has witnessed the rise and fall of many dynasties. It was during the rule of

the Qutub Shahis that the city flourished and many palaces and beautiful monuments and forts were built, which added to the beauty of the city. Hyderabad was previously known as Golconda. Mohammed Quli Qutub Shah of the Shahi Dynasty named it Hyderabad. Literally translated, Hyderabad means the "city of Haider"

San Francisco
The history of the city today known as San Francisco, California, has been greatly influenced

by its coastal location as a port city. San Francisco is the contemporary name of both the city and the county, which share the same boundaries. Among other factors, the presence of a bay well-suited to become a major port caused San Francisco to become a natural center for maritime trade andmilitary activity.

THE CURRENT GEOGRAPHICAL VIEW

Hyderabad is located in central Andhra

Pradesh and is spread over an area of 260 km2. The city is situated on the Deccan Plateau, Hyderabad has an average elevation of about 536 metres above (1,607 ft). Most of the area has a rocky terrain and some areas are hilly. Crops are commonly grown in the surrounding paddy fields.

The original city of Hyderabad was founded

on the banks of river Musi. The heart of the city saw a shift to the north of the river, with the construction of many government buildings and landmarks there, especially south of the Hussain Sagar lake. The rapid growth of the city, along with the merging of Hyderabad, 12 municipal circles and the Cantonment has resulted in a large, united and populous area.

The Musi River originates from Anantagiri

Hills (located 70 km south west of Hyderabad) and joins Krishna River near Wazirabad in Nalgonda district. There are two dams built on it - Osman Sagar and Himayat Sagar. Both these reservoirs constitute the major drinking water sources for Hyderabad city. These dams also prevented the city from flooding that encountered till the early decades of 20th century.

San Francisco

The current view of san Francisco

San Francisco had a bay geographical stucture which the city was nearby the ocean.
Despite its urban and industrial character, San Francisco

Bay and the Sacramento-San Joaquin Delta remain perhaps California's most important ecological habitats. The few remaining salt marshes now represent most of California's remaining salt marsh, supporting a number of endangered species and providing key ecosystem services such as filtering pollutants and sediments from the rivers. Most famously, the bay is a key link in the Pacific Flyway. Millions of waterfowl annually use the bay shallows as a refuge.

Exposed bay muds provide important feeding

areas for shorebirds, but underlying layers of bay mud pose geological hazards for structures near many parts of the bay perimeter. San Francisco Bay provided the nation's first wildlife refuge, Oakland's artificial Lake Merritt (constructed in the 1860s) and America's first urban National Wildlife Refuge, the Don Edwards San Francisco Bay National Wildlife Refuge (SFBNWR) (1972). The Bay is also invaded by non-native species.

WEATHER AND SEASON CHANGE

Hyderabad. .
Hyderabad has a unique combination of a tropical wet and

dry climate that borders on a hot semi-arid climate ), with hot summers from late February to early June, the monsoon season from late June to early October and a pleasant winter from late October to early February. The climate of Hyderabad remains fairly warm through most parts of the year and does not receive much rainfall in the monsoon. With the onset of winters in North and central parts of India, temperatures marginally come down in the months of December and January and the nights become quite cool in and around the Hyderabad city. During the summer months, the mercury goes as high as 42C while in winters the minimum temperature may come down to as low as 12C. June to November is the months of monsoons, accompanied by rains. During the Monsoons also the temperature goes down at times.

San Francisco. .
Because the hills, mountains, and large

bodies of water produce such vast geographic diversity within this region, the San Francisco Bay Area offers a significant variety of microclimates. In the San Francisco, there are season change which is Spring, Summer, Autumn and Winter. Their climate is quiet far different from Hyderabad where it has a cold weather especially ion the winter.

The areas near the Pacific Ocean are generally characterized by relatively small temperature variations during the year, with cool foggy summers and mild rainy winters. Inland areas,

especially those separated from the ocean by hills or mountains, have hotter summers and colder overnight temperatures during the winter. San Jose at the south end of the Bay averages fewer than 15 inches (380 mm) of rain annually, while Napa at the north end of the Bay averages over 30 and parts of the Santa Cruz Mountains just a few miles west of San Jose get over 55
