APPLIANCES CONTROL THROUH

DIAL TONE MULTIPLE FREQUENCY

INTRODUCTION

In the present world of wireless technology every thing is going to be digital and wireless, and the cell phone is the key player in wireless technology today. And today technology made the possessing of a mobile, considered as a basic commodity. And the trends in wireless technology changing day-byday and today the working is going on how to develop remote devices with out the presence of man and to reduce to the time factor and labor, and our project belongs to that race and by using it we can control any electronic devices through a GSM cell phone.

Presentation outline
Project is like how to control electronic devices from GSM mobiles. The Components used are two Nokia Mobiles and a Microcontroller. Any electronic devices can be controlled.

Major components of the project

PCB Components 1- Microcontroller (ATMEGA16) 1- ULN IC 4 Relay (12V D.C.)

TECHNOLOGY USED
Dual-tone multi-frequency (DTMF) signaling is used for telecommunication signaling over analog telephone lines in the voice-frequency band between telephone handsets and other communications devices and the switching center. In this ,when we press the key of cell phone keypad during the call ,it generates a DTMF signal , which is received by the cell phone attached to the appliances. The DTMF signal is the addition of low & high frequency signal.

DTMF TONE SELECTION TABLE

HOW TO CONNECT HANDS FREE?

There are always two connections which come out of the phone, these connections are : 1. Tip 2. Ring

Microcontroller ATMEGA 16

Features of ATMEGA 16
16KB of Flash memory 1KB of SRAM 512 Bytes of EEPROM Available in 40-Pin DIP 8-Channel 10-bit ADC Two 8-bit Timers/Counters One 16-bit Timer/Counter 4 PWM Channels In System Programmer (ISP) Serial USART SPI Interface Digital to Analog Comparator. of Flash memory

ULN CHIP

ULN 2803 have series input resistors selected fro operation directly with 5V TTL or CMOS

Relay
A relay is an electrically operated switch flowing through the coil of the relay creates a magnetic field which attracts a lever and changes the switch contacts. The coil current can be on or off so relays have two switch positions. Relays allow one circuit to switch a second circuit which can be completely separate from the first.

Relay Construction
There are four parts in every relay: Electromagnet Armature that can be attracted by the electromagnet Spring Set of electrical contacts

THANKS
Thanks to all my team mates who encouraged and worked with me for the successful implementation of our project, and also very grateful to my instructors. Thanks to our guide Mr. Pawan Saini. Special thanks to all of you for your Patience.
