A brand is the idea or image of a specific product or service that consumers connect with, by identifying the name, logo, slogan, or design of the company who owns the idea or image.

Brand equity
Brand equity is the added value endowed on product and services. it may be reflected in the way consumers think, feel and act with respect to brand. As well as the in the prices, market share and profitability the brand command for the firm.

Role of Brand
Brand help to orgnize inventory & accounting records. Brand signal a certain level of quality so that satisfied buyers can easily choose the product again. Brand set the mind of the customer.

Marketers get customers to relate to their brands is by creating a brand persanalitiesfor example- MTV is not just music cable station ,its a way of life for young,cool people.
