One syllable

One syllable adjectives usually form the superlative by adding est.


If a one syllable adjectives ends in a single vowel followed by a single consoant, this one will be double Thin. Thinnest BigBiggnest Wet.....Wettest

My sword is the shortest in the kingdom

One syllable If the adverb has one syllable, add an est to make it superlative.
Slow..slowest Soon..soonest

Turtle is the slowest animal

Two syllable

To form the superlative of a two syllable word ending in y, change the y to i, then add -est.

Happy ......... happiest

Jolly..jolliest Lazy.......... laziest

Two syllable Two syable adjectives that end it ed, -ing, -ful or less always form the superlatives with the most
