This report was commissioned by London South Bank University in 2012 to describe the situation of transportation and streets in Westminster.

Primary Research
Small scale primary research was conducted in the form of a questionnaire. The questionnaire aims to collect firsthand information about street and transportation services in Westminster in order to analyse and make the suggestion.

Secondary research
The research also made use of arrange of secondary resource , including a number of websites dealing with services in Westminster. Most of websites are porduced by governmenta and was thought to reliable.

General information

When searching Westminster transportation through Google, over 19 million results appear. In Wikipedia, one of the worlds largest source databases, more than 100 pages has content to introduce under category of the transport of Westminster. Basically, from the research, some four railway stations and some 31 tube stations are located around the whole area.

Special Role of Transportation

Tourism has become an increasingly important economic sector and the City of Westminster includes within its boundaries some of Londons most prestigious landmarks and districts. The City Council wishes to maintain Westminsters position as an internationally renowned tourist, arts, cultural and entertainment center offering a wide range of facilities.

Cycling to work should be encouraged by providing safer cycling routes so as to reduce the traffic congestion at peak time in the morning.
