Tonight: Strong high pressure aloft to dominate the Southwest U.S. Strengthening inversions to result in air quality issues and poor ventilation.

Wednesday: High pressure aloft continues to dominate the region. Poor ventilation to linger through the day. Warmer areawide, but especially in the mountains.

Thursday: Increasing cloudiness west, increasing windiness east. A weak, fast-moving disturbance clips the area with only limited impact. Moisture to our west poised to quickly spread eastward Thursday Night.

Friday: Deep moisture pooled to the west of New Mexico will be arriving in waves beginning Thursday Night and especially Friday-Friday Night.

Saturday and Sunday: Unsettled weather with at least two distinct waves of precipitation favoring the west and north. Friday Night-Saturday, then Sunday Night-Monday.

Still a fair amount of uncertainty regarding the eventual track and strength of Storm #2. Latest indications suggest it will may briefly close off to the west of NM late Monday before sliding eastward. Regardless, early next week appears to remain active.
VERY STRONG INVERSIONS -- cold air at surface topped by warm air aloft. This will result in poor ventilation and air quality concerns, especially Wednesday-Wednesday Night.
FRIDAY - SATURDAY Travel impacts due to snow possible Friday Night - Saturday across the higher terrain of western and northern NM. However, snow levels will be quite high thus impacts are not expected to be widespread.
