PUNCTUATION
Punctuation marks are very important. They help to make our writing clear and easy to read. Use them correctly when you write.
Capital letters (A, B, C,) to begin sentences e.g. They are scouts. with proper nouns e,g. Aisah, Kota Bharu, Monday, Hari Raya for the pronoun I e.g. Ramu and I are friends

Full stops (.) at the end of a sentence Its a hot day. after initials David Xu D. Xu for abbreviations Doctor Dr. March Mar. General Hospital G.H.

Exclamation marks (!) at the end of sentences to show strong feelings e.g. Oh, Dear!, Hurray! for greetings e.g. Happy New Year!, Hello!, Hi!

PUNCTUATION
Commas (,) to separate items in a checklist Tigers, lions, cheetahs and leopards are wild animals. after words like now, yes, no and well when these words begin sentences Now, do your work quietly. Yes, he is my teacher. before question tags Tomorrow is a holiday, isnt it?

Question marks (?) at the end of questions What is your name? Is she a patient?

PUNCTUATION
Semicolons (;) to indicate a pause of greater importance than the commas Julius Caesar was a brave man; and all the Romans respected him. The door swung open; a big, ugly man walked in.

Colon (:) shows a pause between two statement the second statement explains the Quotation marks (.) first in direct speech to show the exact words the colon indicated a more complete used by the speaker pause than the semicolons Mike Tyson said, I can still be a good We were shocked: Malik had looked boxer. completely different Dont scream or Ill shoot, said the robber.
