Prostitution:

the profession of performing sexual acts for money. Panderer: Soliciting acts of prostitution Pimp: Pandering on behalf of a prostitute. Sex Work: Includes prostitution, doing porn, being a stripper or just generally anybody who profits from selling sex.

**Deplorable work conditions (Davidson, Perry and Taylor). **Psychologically, being a prostitute requires someone to view his/herself in a very different light than workers in any other kind of profession. It is emotional labor. **It is an immoral act.

**Violates the Kantian principle of humanity, because it reflects a disrespectful attitude, which is expressed in the nonchalant use of the human body as a mere means to achieve some goal, defying the limits of respectful sexual relations, because it proffers a monetary substitute for mutual desire and concern and, hence, that it is a morally questionable and harmful activity (Estes)

Economic reasons: Both personally and nationally, legalizing prostitution will be lucrative. With proper planning and management, prostitution, and hopefully other sex works could be made taxable, and it could provide more jobs, especially for those people who will willingly become sex workers if it were made legal.

Property in the Person and Labor: John Locke argument: every man has property of his own person, he/she only, chooses how to use it. Note, however that, because body labor cannot be separated from the laborer, the person is contractually surrendering power over his/her body over a certain period of time, for x amount of money. A prostitution contract merely allows voluntary transfer of power from seller to buyer

**It benefits those who are disabled, suffering from chronic or terminal illnesses, sexually dysfunctional or plain awkward in social or relationship settings. **It serves as a means of exploring ones secret sexual preference. **Prostitution is an upfront, fair transaction. Initially, both the buyer and seller are aware of what they are getting themselves into, in all jobs, workers are aware that things dont always go according to plan. Thats a risk both buyer and seller choose to take.

Would solve a lot of social problems arising due to illegality of prostitution such as child prostitution that occurs right here in the U.S.

It is my belief that prostitution should be made legally, but highly regulated for it to be successful and very profitable. If nothing else, some individual states could benefit from it.
