Conflict Management
Alternate Dispute Resolution Summary
People who work together will win, whether it be against complex football defenses, or the problems of modern society. Vince Lombardi
Team members share personal information, start to get to know and accept one another, and begin turning their attention toward the groups task.
Team members compete for status, jockey for positions of relative control, and argue about appropriate directions for the group. Tensions arise as individuals assert themselves.
The team begins moving together in a cooperative fashion, and a tentative balance emerges. Group norms evolve to guide individual behavior, and a cooperative spirit begins to blossom.
The team matures and learns how to handle complex challenges. Roles are performed and exchanged among members as needed, and tasks are efficiently accomplished.

Follow-through: You can count on me. Team members are keenly aware that as part of a team, everything they do--or dont do--impacts someone else. Accuracy: We do it right the first time. Clearly a reflection of personal pride, also demonstrates a commitment to uphold the standards of the team, thus generating team pride. Creativity: Innovation flourishes on a team when individuals feel supported by colleagues. Timeliness: When work team members are truly cooperating they respect the time of others by turning team priorities into personal priorities, arriving to meetings on time and asking Is this a good time? Spirit: Being on a work team is a bit like being part of a family. You cant have your way all the time, and-to add value-you must develop a generous spirit.
