Plant maintenance has to be given primary consideration in production management because plant breakdown may cause the following problems.

Planned Maintenance

Scheduled maintenance avoids breakdowns. It involves inspection, lubrication, repair and overhaul of certain equipments which if neglected can result in breakdown.
