DO & DONT WITH EPOXIES

DO this when mixing and installing epoxy:

Only mix the amount of epoxy that you can use in 1/2 the pot-life. Materials will start to thicken at this point and are more difficult to work with. Large batches will set up faster than smaller batches. Start by mixing small batches and then increase your batch size slowly, to insure that you do not loose your mix. Mix all epoxy thoroughly at least three minutes Take time to measure all epoxy accurately Use clean buckets for measuring epoxy in Use two separate clean buckets one for A resin and one for B resin Always mix B Resin into A Resin Remember warmer epoxies set much faster then cooler epoxies, so start by making small batches. Wear rubber gloves when using Epoxies Wear eye protection when using Epoxies

DO & DONT WITH EPOXIES

Scrape all the Resin out of both A & B containers Dispose of Epoxy waste properly Read all labels before beginning the job Do separate your A resin from your B resin when your order comes in and make sure that everything you ordered has been delivered before starting your job Do ask Questions Clean Epoxies off all skin surfaces as soon as possible Mix Epoxies in small quantities Use Epoxies on only clean and sound substrates Use a clean pail to mix your Epoxy in Use a drill mixer of proper size to mix your epoxy with Do use the right product for the right job

DO & DONT WITH EPOXIES

DONT do these things when mixing and installing epoxy Do not mix an entire unit at once unless your experience has proven that you can mix a batch this size under the conditions that you are working. Always start by mixing small batches and slowly increase your batch sizes as needed. Do not contaminate the two components (resin and/or hardener), always keep them separated from each other Do not use epoxies without proper personal protection equipment Do not use epoxy on unclean or unsound surfaces Do not use epoxy on applications in direct sunlight, they will yellow, instead use Urethanes Do not improperly dispose of an epoxy until it hardens Do not mix batches of epoxy that you cannot use within the specified pot life. Remember that epoxies set much faster at warmer temperatures. Do not store your epoxies in hot areas. Storage at hot temperatures will shorten the shelf life.

DO & DONT WITH EPOXIES

Do not store your epoxy in cold area. Cold storage can dramatically shorten your shelf life. Do not mix epoxy that are very warm. They will have a very shot pot-life. Do not use epoxy after they start getting hot Do not use an epoxy after they start to thicken Do not mix epoxy "A" resin into epoxy "B" hardener, instead mix epoxy hardener "B" component into epoxy resin component "A" Do not stir epoxy only by hand, instead use a drill mixer of proper size Do not use an epoxy that you are not sure rather it got mixed right or not. If you do not know if a batch is mixed correctly set it aside and mix a new batch. Do not mix your epoxies in unclean pails. Always use clean pails to mix your epoxy in. Do not forget to get all your questions answered before starting your job. Don't make any assumptions. Do not use Epoxies when temperatures of the air or the substrate will drop below 50 degrees F.
