1) Figurehead As a Symbolic head required to perform a number of routine duties of a legal or social nature. 2) Leader Responsible for the motivation and direction of employees. 3) Liaisons Maintains a network of outside contacts who provide favors and information.

Informational Role 4) Monitor Receives a wide variety of information & serves as nerve center of internal and external and information of the organization. 5) Disseminator Transmits information received from outsiders or from other employees to members of the organization. 6) Spokesperson Transmits information to outsiders on organizations plans, policies, actions, and result; serves as expert on organizations industry.

Political It is used to build a power base and establish connections. Conceptual It is used to analyze complex situations. Interpersonal It is used to communicate, motivate, guide and delegate. Diagnostic It is the ability to visualize most appropriate response to a situation. Technical It is the expertise in one's particular functional area.

Top Level Managers It consists of the board of directors, president, viceresident, CEOs and other members of the executives. They are responsible for controlling and overseeing the entire organization. They set a tone at the top and develop strategic plans, company policies, and make decisions on the direction of the business. In addition, top level managers play a significant role in the mobilization of outside resources and are accountable to the shareholders and general public.

Middle Level Managers It consists of general managers, branch managers and departmental managers. They are accountable to the top management for their department's function. Their roles can be emphasized as executing organizational plans in conformance with the company's policies and the objectives of the top management, they define and discuss information and policies from top management to lower management

FUNCTIONS OF MANAGEMENT LEVELS OF MANAGEMENT Lower Level Managers It consists of supervisors, section leads, foremen, etc. They focus on controlling and directing. They usually have the responsibility of assigning employees tasks, guiding and supervising employees on day to day activities, ensuring quality and quantity production, making recommendations, suggestions, and up channeling employee problems, etc.
