Binomial Theorem

Preliminary
Binomial is an algebraic expression of two terms
"Bi" in binomial refers to two objects/unknowns
e.g. a+b is a binomial with unknowns a and b,
2x-3y is a binomial with unknowns x and y.
Thus, binomial expansion is an expression obtained from a
binomial raised to a certain power.

Preliminary
(a+b)2=(a+b)(a+b)

=a2+2ab+b2 ==> binomial raised to power of 2

(a+b)3=(a+b)(a2+2ab+b2)

=a3+3a2b+3ab2+b2 ==> binomial raised to power of 3
