MISSION
To provide high quality assessment, treatment, and rehabilitation procedure to meet the international standards.

To modify the syllabus, prepare individualized educational plans (IEPS) for executing quality education, training in order to make them productive citizens.
Encouraging them to participate in different co-curricular activities at National and International level.

To convene regular counseling and guidance sessions for special children, their families and others.
To run early intervention program through liasioning with parents, different institutes, hospitals and referral services.

RESOURCE UTILIZATION
The centre is mainly funded by the Federal Government, whereas the following organizations, professionals are supporting the centre to run the activities smoothly:

Parents Teachers Association of the Centre (PTA) Chef International Pak. Irish Rehabilitation Centre, Abbottabad Pakistan Institute of Medical Science (PIMS). National Institute of Rehabilitation Medicine (NIRM) Philanthropists. Special Education Centres All non academic + academic professionals of Al-Farabi Pakistan Bait-ul-Mall Korean Overseas International Cooperation Agency (KOICA).

To design, organize and hold summer camps, medical camps and community awareness campaign. To facilitate students, visitors, members of different organizations and parents.

ADMISSION CRITERIA
Physically handicapped children within the age group of to12 years for primary and 12 to 16 years for secondary classes. Must be free from any communicable disease. Must be the resident of Islamabad. PARTICIPATION IN CO-CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES


AT NATIONAL / INTERNATIONAL LEVEL
Students participated in Abilympic Competitions 2003 held in India. One student of the Centre participated in Athens Games, 2004. Students participated in National Games held at Abbottabad, Peshawar and Lahore. Students participated in different events arranged at National/ local level e.g. Islamabad Traffic Police, NGOs, President Secretariat, Prime Minister House and field trips. Won Gold Medal as a best student from Pakistan Bait-ul-Mall. 2nd & 3rd prizes in Marathon race in 2008 (Malaysia)

ACHIEVEMENTS
Physiotherapy was provided to 133 OPD Cases. 64 students integrated in mainstream and Vocational Training Uniforms provided to all students of the Center. Eid gifts distributed to all students each year. Adopt a child programme (for 6 students) Establishment of Play Therapy Section with the help of Korean Overseas International Cooperation Agency (KOICA). Up-gradation of Computer Lab (04 Govt. own & 16 Korean) through KOICA. Up-gradation of Physiotherapy Unit with technical assistance through KOICA. Provision of wheel chairs to the all the students of the centre for school purpose as well as for domestic use.

Affiliation with Federal Board of Intermediate & Secondary Education (FBISE). 07 cases referred to N.I.R.M for Surgical Correction/ Operations. Orthopedic Workshop is functioning in collaboration with CHEF International & CBM.
Establishment of Indoor games, auditorium donated by

KOICA.
150 supportive aids / treatment provided to students and patients

as OPD cases by Pak Irish Rehabilitation Centre Abbottabad. Renovation of washrooms of all the centre to disabled friendly washrooms by KOICA. Shower and changing rooms by KOICA. Up gradation of C.P Montessori class by KOICA.

406 cases of the centre & OPD Patients were provided Supportive Aid/Treatment by the Orthopedic Workshop of the centre. Provision of $120 to deserving students of the centre by U.A.E. Embassy. 100% result was achieved in the Matriculation Examination of Sessions 2010-2011 & 2011-2012 His Excellency the Ambassador of Saudi Arabia visited the centre. Her Excellency Madam Aljohra Abdullah Alarifi donated furniture for four classes. Turkish NGO donated 50 bags and 15 Wheel Chair for Physically Handicapped Students.
