Strategic planning is an organization's process of defining its strategy, or direction, and making decisions on allocating its resources to pursue this strategy. Or A systematic process of envisioning a desired future, and translating this vision into broadly defined goals or objectives and a sequence of steps to achieve them Or A strategic plan is a road map to lead an organization from where it is now to where it would like to be in five or ten years

processes by which an organization engages in environmental analysis, goal formulation, and strategy development with the purpose of organizational growth and renewal. Provides unified vision and goals for the organization Helps ensure that the needed resources are available to carry out initiatives

government departments, organizations and businesses to develop blueprint for action and change the process should be community based, inclusive and participatory to allow for maximum stakeholder involvement and input.
