BRIGADA ESKWELA (NATIONAL SCHOOLS MAINTENANCE WEEK)

Brigada Eskwela is a nationwide voluntary effort of teachers,
parents and the community. This is a missionary work and must be
done everyday not only on the months of May. The Spirit of
Volunteerism and Bayanihan Spirit are among the highlights of this daily
schools maintenance activities. This is under the umbrella of the Adopt-A
School Program (ASP) of the Department of Education.
DepED Order No. 24, s. 2008 entitled Institutionalization of the
Brigada Eskwela Program of the National Schools Maintenance Week (NSMW) is
a legal base that encourages all education stakeholders to contribute their time,
efforts and resources in ensuring that public schools are all set in time for class
opening. It is a week-long event where local communities, parents, alumni, civic
groups, local business, NGOs, private individuals and even teachers and
students volunteer their time, skills to do minor to medium repairs and
maintenance work in our school while Brigada Eskwela Plus is a year-round
activity.
