euangelion the word stood for the

good news itself. The Eng. word


gospel, i.e. good message, is the
equivalent of euangelion.In the NT it
denotes the good tidings of the
Kingdom of God and of salvation
through Christ, to be received by faith,
on the basis of His expiatory death, His
burial, resurrection, and ascension,
e.g (W.E. Vines).
38: And he said unto them, Let us go into
the next towns, that I may preach there also:
for therefore came I forth. 39: And he
preached in their synagogues throughout all
Galilee, and cast out devils (Mark 1).
1: The beginning of the gospel of Jesus
Christ, the Son of God (Mark 1).
The gospel belongs to Jesus in that it came
from him and is inseparably connected to and
with him, it is the message of hope revolving
around Jesus as the Son of God.

Believe the gospel (Mark
1: 15).
