Long-Range Correction to MIC
Most short-range potentials decay rapidly with
increasing intermolecular separations.
For example, the L.J potential asymptotes rapidly to
zero for distances greater than 2.5 .
Therefore, r
c
2.5 is an appropriate choice for the
L.J potential.
Notice that all the long-range corrections
involve both the number of
particles N and the .
Long-Range Correction to MIC
Because both these quantities are constant in the
NVT-ensemble, the LRCs can be added after the
simulation.
However, for other ensembles in which either the
number of particles of volume can change (e.g.,
NPT), they must be added during the simulation.
Neighbour List
Problem:
Long time of computation.
Solution:
In 1967 it has been presented that with keeping a
periodically update list of neighbours of each
molecule will reduce time of calculations.
i.e. instead of searching repeatedly for
neighbouring molecules, they are found from the
list and interaction are calculated.
