A COUPLE OF POSSIBLE OF BLENDED

LEARNING SEQUENCES

1. A CULTURE TOPIC TO PLAN A TRIP TO

2. USING INTERNET FOR CONTROLLED PRACTICE

A CULTURAL TOPIC
Teacher elicits ideas on a culture topic and pre-teaches vocabulary
Students work in the class on a reading topic, e.g London, and do some reading exercises
Students go online to find out tourist information in.
Students post their ideas on a class blog
Students meet in class to discuss the ideas on the blog and plan trip to.
Teacher picks out examples of language on the blog/ in the discussion and gives feedback
Students use feed back to make their own podcast/write up a plan for a trip to

Using internet for controlled practice

This is much simpler-students do an ebased digital exercise on a grammar point
and discuss the answer together

Possible flipped classroom ideas:

Students research a culture topic and share with class:

teacher focuses on the structure of the discussion and feeds
in vocabulary and grammar as needed

Students find five new words from a website suited to their

level and teach them to their friends

Students look up grammar rules and come to class with two

examples sentences that show a difference (siple present vs
present continuous)
