Problem Statement
Let us calculate Total Salary from
EMP Table.

The Total Salary is calculated using :

SQL Expression :
TOTSAL = SAL + NVL(COMM)

Informatica Expression :
TOTSAL

= SAL +
IFF(ISNULL(COMM), 0, COMM)

Create a New mapping from Mappings Menu

Drag EMP Source on to the Mapping from Sources

Create a New Transformation from Transformation Menu

Select EXPRESSION transformation from Create Transformation

and Give suitable Name to it Click CREATE button

Drag all ports from Source Qualifier to Expression Transformation

Edit the Expression Transformation (by DBL Clicking it)

Go to PORTS tab

Mark the Ports as I Input; O Output or V Variable ports

as required

Add a new Port by clicking Add a new port to this transformation

Rename the port, mark it as only Output port

Click down arrow, you will get expression editor

Enter the expression as required using Functions and Port

Validate the expression , by clicking VALIDATE button

Created the new port, TOTSAL to pass required value as Output

connect Expression and Target with suitable ports

Set the required properties
Execute the Workflow
