RCUB Boards

RCUA boards can only be used on NE8250 V1.00 equipment while RCUB boards can
only be used on NE8250 V2.00 equipment.

A RCUB board has two clock input/output ports. EOW ports are removed. In future, E
OW ports will be added on RSUA boards (for NR8250 V3.00 equipment).

NMS port: RJ45 (10/100/1000 Base-T), cannot process clock 1588 and ETH OAM me
ssages.

GbE port: RJ45 (supports only1000Base-T), can process ETH OAM messages and15
88 messages

RTUA Boards

A RTUA board provides a 16 E1 interface. 75 ohm unbalanced mode and 12

0 ohm balanced mode can be switched by plugging/unplugging caps.

In RTUA boards of NR8250 V1.00, only hardware version 091202 or later ve

rsions can be used on NR8250 V2.00 IDUs.

Internal Use Only

RTUB Boards

A RTUB board provides two STM-1/STM-4 ports. The first port supports only
STM-1 while the second port supports STM-1 and STM-4.

Support an 8 E1 interface. 75 ohm unbalanced mode and 120 ohm balance

d mode can be switched by plugging/unplugging caps.

Support MUX/ADM/TM functions of TDM services. Support maximum 63 ch

annels VC12 to VC4 multiplexing.

In RTUB boards of NR8250 V1.00, only hardware version 090804 or later ve

rsions can be used on NR8250 V2.00 IDUs.

RTUB Boards

Internal Use Only

RTUC Boards

Provide 32 channels of E1 access. 75 ohm unbalanced mode and 120ohm

balanced mode can be switched in LMT.

RTUC boards can only be used in V2.00 equipment.

RTUNO Boards

A RTUNO board provides six GbE ports of which four can be used simultaneously. GbE
3 and GbE4 are opticalal. GbE1 and GbE2 have both electrical and optical ports. Comp
ared to RTUM boards of V1.00 equipment, Ethernet OAM and 1588 V2 are supported.

RTUNO board

Port 2
When a RTUNO board is in Slot 2, 3 or 4, four ports are all available. GbE1 and GbE2 a
re electrical by default.

Port 1
Port 3

Port 4

When a RTUNO board is in Slot 5, 6, 7 or 8, only two ports (GbE1 and GbE4) are availa
ble because the RCUB board does not have corresponding switch chip mapping for thes
e slots.

optical mode and electrical mode can be switched through Shelf > Interface > Ethernet
Port in LMT.

RTUNE Boards

A RTUNE board provides six GbE ports of which four can be used simultaneously. GbE3
and GbE4 are electrical. GbE1 and GbE2 have both electrical and optical ports. Compar
ed to RTUM boards of V1.00 equipment, Ethernet OAM and 1588 V2 are supported.

RTUNE board

Port 2
When a RTUNE board is in Slot 2, 3 or 4, four ports are all available. GbE1 and GbE2 ar
e electrical by default.

Port 3 Port 4

When a RTUNE board is in Slot 5, 6, 7 or 8, only two ports (GbE1 and GbE4) are availa
ble because the RCUB board does not have corresponding switch chip mapping for thes
e slots.

RTUHO Boards

A RTUHO provides three GbE optical ports. GbE ports support Ethernet OAM and 15
88 V2.

RTUHO board

Support 8 channels of E1 access. Balanced mode and unbalanced mode are switche
d with caps.

When a RTUHO board is in Slot 2, 3 or 4, all three GbE ports are available. When a
RTUHO board is in Slot 5, 6, 7 or 8, only the GbE1 port on the left is available becaus
e the RCUB board does not have corresponding switch chip mapping for these slots.

RTUHE Boards

A RTUHE board provides three GbE electrical ports. GbE ports support ETH OAM an
d 1588 V2.

RTUHE boards

Support 8 channels of E1 access. Balanced mode and unbalanced mode are switche
d with caps.

When a RTUHE board is in Slot 2, 3 or 4, all three GbE ports are available. When a R
TUHE board is in Slot 5, 6, 7 or 8, only the GbE1 port on the left is available because
the RCUB board does not have corresponding switch chip mapping for these slots.

RMU Boards

RMU boards of NR8250 V2.00 have two types RMUC and RMUD. Compared to RM
UD, RMUC boards have XPIC function.

RMUC boards

RMUD boards

RMUD boards have the same appearance with RMUB boards. RMUB boards can onl
y be used on NR8250 V1.00 equipment while RMUD boards can only be used on NR
8250 V2.00 equipment. RMUC boards can be used on both V1.00 and V2.00 equipm
ent.

Appendix II RBU Backplane Identification

RBU is the backplane. Its information cannot be obtained in LMT. The only identification is the
label on the device.
Early labels of NR8250 V1.00 and of V2.00 are ZXMW NR8250 RA. See the following figure.
RBUA is for V1.00 equipment and RBUB is for V2.00 equipment.
For easy identification, new labels are as follows :
RBUA: ZXMW NR8250(V1.00)(RBUA), Code: 122392131001
RBUB: ZXMW NR8250(V2.00)(RBUB), Code: 122392131014
RBUC: ZXMW NR8250(V2.00)(RBUC), Code: 122392131018
