Abstract
At present Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing is widely used

for its bandwidth efficiency.

Because of its orthogonal characteristic OFDM more data can be

transmitted at a certain amount of bandwidth compare to the other

systems
By using Space Time Block Code the antenna gain can be increased. In

this project analysis of STBC-OFDM carried out by calculating Signal to

Noise Ratio (SNR) and Bit Error Rate (BER).
The SNR Vs BER curve shows that increasing the diversity gain of

antenna improve the performance of the OFDM system. All results are
shown
in Matlab Environment.

OVERVIEW

The target of next generation wireless communication is to

achieve high data rates with low bandwidth.

It should be power efficient. At present time Orthogonal
Frequency Division Multiplexing is widely used for its
bandwidth efficiency property. Because of its orthogonal
characteristic more data can be transmitted at a certain amount
of bandwidth compare to the other systems.
Increasing the diversity gain is another way to achieve good
performance.

FDM
Frequency Division Multiplexing (FDM) is a

technique where the main signal to be

transmitted is divided into a set of
independent signals, which are called
subcarriers in the frequency domain.
Thus, the original data stream is divided
into many parallel streams (or channels),
one for each subcarrier.

Why OFDM
If the subcarrier signals fulfil the orthogonality condition their

spectrum can overlap, improving the spectral efficiency. This

technique is known as orthogonal FDM or OFDM.
