The predominant mother tongue Pashto is spoken
by 77.54%.
Urdu, Punjabi, Saraiki, Hindko are also spoken by
some of the population.

Security Plan has been chalked out by the district police.
Vehicles have been provided to the DRO/ROs.
Vehicles along with POL and camera have been provided to the
monitoring officers.
Focal person from each line deptt: has been nominated.
Security measures have been enhanced around the District Courts
especially for the offices of the DRO/ROs.
Election material has been received by the Deputy Election
Commissioner and put into safe custody.
Duties have been assigned to the concerned staff.
Training of election staff has been conducted.

Terrorist/sabotage activities by militants targeting election activities and general


public.

Infiltration of terrorist from adjoining tribal areas.

Threat to vital installations like Indus highway, Kohat tunnel, Khushal Garh bridge,
oil installations and foreigners working there.

Specific threat by Taliban to ANP and PP and general threat to other political parties.

Threats of target killing of Elite and political leaders including candidates.

Targeting LEAs to lower their morale and subvert the election process.

Threat to election commission staff, returning officer and polling staff and NGOs

PROBLEMS
1. Non-Utilization of Funds:

The funds under District ADP (2012-13) un-utilized due to


ambiguity in procedure of approval by LG & RDD KP
Peshawar.

As per policy the schemes identified by 03 regular MPAS


& one elder of the area were approved in DDC meeting &
forwarded to the LG & RDD KP Peshawar for further
approval but approval not accorded.

The LG & RDD KP Peshawar issued other


directions to 07 Districts of KP to utilize the funds
of District ADP for improvement of municipal
services.
The proposals received from the MC Kohat & MC
Lachi were discussed in a meeting of committee
constituted by LG & RDD KP Peshawar for the
purpose and forwarded to LG & RDD KP
Peshawar for approval which is awaited.

Later; LG & RDD KP Peshawar directed this office


to utilize the funds of districts ADP (2012-13), on
the schemes identified by the MNA NA 324(WRS).
In this regard LG & RDD KP Peshawar was
requested to advise this office as to whether the
identification of EX-MNA NA 324 after dissolution
of assemblies is intact or otherwise but reply is still
awaited.

building etc due to non-revival of federal Govt
funds.
