STEP-1

Start the FTI 8.2 application

Import the 3D geometry

Supported File Formats are:

IGES
VDA
STP
MODEL TREE

BEFORE IMPORT
WIZARD

AFTER IMPORT

Generate skin

It will show three domain

1. Domain-1: Top Surface
2. Domain-2: Thickness Surface
3. Domain-3: Bottom Surface
. Select Top Surface or Bottom
Surface for reference

Generate Mesh

Define Punch Direction

Normal : Punch Direction normal to the

surface
Auto: Punch Direction gives
automatically
Manual : for punch direction gives the
value in x, y, z direction.
Eg. X=0, y=0, z=1 means punch
direction is z axis.

Flip changes the punch direction

arrow in upward / downward
direction.

Distance Between Blanks : 1.5t
Blank to Coil Edge Distance : 1.5 t
Carrier Width : Depend upon area .
Carrier to part edge distance : 1.5 t

Right Click on Blue screen

Select Solve
Select One Up Side
Carrier
