Spanish Food
These are just a small
selection of the food that
is eaten in Spain.

Gazpacho is a
cold tomatobased soup and is
a speciality of
Andaluca.

Albondigas
Spanish meatballs
seasoned with herbs.

Paella is a typical
Spanish dish. It is
normally made using
shellfish but can also be
made with chicken or
rabbit.

Calamares
Crisp, flour-coated
squid rings that are
fried in hot oil.

Portuguese Food
These are just a small
selection of the food that
is eaten in Portugal.

Bacalhau is the
Portuguese name for
salt cod. It is a very
popular fish in Portugal,
so much so that they
say they have a
different bacalhau
recipe for each day.
Caldeirada is a typical
Portuguese stew consisting of a
large variety of fish, and
sometimes shellfish, with
potato, tomatoes and onion.

Arroz Doce or
Arroz de Leite
(Portuguese rice
pudding) with
milk, cinnamon
and lemon

Queijadas
These cupcake-like egg
and milk pastries are
lightly sweet.

Polish Food
These are just a few of the
traditional foods eaten
throughout Poland.

Ros is a
traditional Polish
chicken soup,
usually served
with noodles.

Kielbasa
This is a
traditional
Polish sausage

Sernik
Polish Cheese Cake
has a solid, dry
consistency-although it is moist
and flavourful.
Makowiec (Poppy Seed
Cake)
A traditional Polish
dessert, especially popular
during the Christmas and
Easter seasons.

Italian Food
These are a few of
the traditional
foods eaten in
Italy.

POLENTA FRITTA
Fried Polenta
Polenta fried with a cover of
breadcrumbs becomes
pleasantly crunchy and tasty.

Pizza with Tomato,


Mozzarella,
and Mushrooms

Gnocchi consists
of dough simply
shaped in small
dumplings.

Spaghetti
bolognese is
a traditional
pasta dish.

These are a small selection
of traditional foods eaten
in Wales.

Cawl
A stew or country
soup made of meat
and vegetables, all
cooked together in a
large pot or cauldron.

Laver is an edible seaweed


commonly found on the south
west coast of Wales.
It is mixed with fine oatmeal,
formed into small cakes and fried
in bacon fat.

Welsh cakes are a bit like


a flat scone, baked on a
griddle and with a
distinctive flavour and
texture, usually served hot
spread with butter.

Bara brith is a
rich tea loaf
sometimes
known as
speckled

Welsh rarebit
Similar to
cheese on toast
but is made
with a mixture
of cheese, milk
and mustard.

Crempog
These are Welsh
pancakes made in
very much the
same way as
"ordinary"
pancakes, except
that buttermilk is
traditionally used.
