Improvement

Pros

Cons

For Additional Power 12 MW

Installation of
new
GTGs

1. Fast track
2. Simple operation

1.Fuel gas utilization &

efficiency
2.Fuel gas consumption

Retrofit of
existing
GTGs to CCGT

1. Increase efficiency
2. Green Technology.
3. Minimal fuel gas
consumption

1. High CAPEX;
2. Complexity
3. More space requirement;

Other Improvements
Upgrade existing
GTs

1. Gain Approx 1.7 MW

1.Alternators also need to

be upgraded.
2.Fuel gas supply slightly
increase

Air Inlet Cooling

1.Gain Approx 4.5 MW

2. High CAPEX.

Summary
Technically, to achieve 12 MW additional
power demands, all three options are
feasible;
Option 1: Power Import from PEA
Option 2: Install 3 x TAURUS 60
Option 3: CCGT
CCGT converted to Cogeneration when heat
from steam consumption increases.
CCGT utilizes energy effectively as
compared with OCGT so it supports
TAGNOC.
