Opening sequence
Starts off with a news report on the TV ( medium close of the TV). Then the camera
glides along a table which is covered with papers which have detailed drawings of
planes and how to make bombs (bird –eye view of table). The camera shows the back of
the head of a man looking into a mirror getting ready we can see his face in the mirror.
There is a transition and the camera in the same position but looking into a different
mirror with a different man also getting ready. We see the two men enter the airport and
they both merge into the crowd. The audience see that the men are boarding the same
plane as the senator (some contact is made between them).
Film summary
A senator is flying back to the states after a visit to Britain. He has
recently been accused of Freemasonry activity, which has been
denied by his party. This is the first time a senator travels on a public
airline. A terrorist who became aware of the accusations against the
senator and is part of a large terrorist organisation has planned to
bomb the plane. A cop who is flying out to the states for a meeting
about his future is also on the plane. The terrorist and the cop end up
sitting next to each other on the plane. The terrorist is in the toilet
where is bomb explodes prematurely but it only sparks and fails to
explode. The cop becomes suspicious. The terrorist then hijacks the
plane and forces himself into the cockpit. During the struggle the pilot
loses control of the plane and then plane ends up crashing into the
Atlantic ocean. After a search party is sent to rescue, the cop is the
only person found lying and is flown to hospital. There he lies in a
critical condition and the film ends with him coming out of the hospital
with media attention all around him.
