What do we do?
Dural Medical & Skin Cancer Clinic can provide a full
range of primary health services to all ages, ranging
from children immunisations, men and womens health
check ups and aged health care including mental well
being. We also conduct skin cancer checks and
diagnoses where our doctors can provide long term
treatment plans after discussing the findings with you.
This is all headed by Dr Talal Serhan, who has years of
experience in a vast range of locations and conditions
such as the Riverina and Blacktown districts, bringing a
wealth of knowledge, care and compassion to the Dural
community, providing the highest standard of care to
you and your family.

The Medical Centre

Dural Medical & Skin Cancer Clinic is a modern, state of
the art medical practice. We have on site a pathology
collection centre which is available every day for your
convenience.
We have a fully equipped modern procedure and
treatment room which can accommodate a wide range
of surgical and non-surgical treatments. For your
convenience, your required skin surgery will be done on
site.

Pre-employment
Assessment
Pre-employment functional capacity assessments are
undertaken to safely match candidates to the physical
demands of a job and can be conducted independently or
in tandem with pre-employment medicals.
Each pre-employment functional assessment is tailored to
the specific physical demands of the job the employer is
recruiting for. This requires a detailed job analysis to be
undertaken by CHG to ensure that we understand the
work requirements and can accurately test a candidates
suitability. The type of assessment used depends on the
employers requirements, and typically can be one of the
following:

Clinical assessment 30 minutes

Functional capacity evaluation 45 minutes
Long functional capacity evaluation 60 minutes.

Skin Cancer Diagnosis

Skin cancer is the most common form of cancer in
Australia. Skin cancers can kill and their seriousness
shouldnt be under estimated. As any other cancer, skin
cancers of several types and subtypes and they differ in
their aggressiveness accordingly.
Types of skin cancer:

Basal Cell Carcinoma, the commonest type of skin

cancer
Squamous Cell Carcinoma
Melanoma, the most serious type skin cancer
Others: a few rare skin cancers

The more sun exposure in infancy and childhood the more

chance of moles appearing hence, the more possibility of
developing skin cancer.

Aged Care

About Dr. Serhan

Dr Talal Serhan was born, educated and trained in Iraq.
He graduated from Basrah University in 1994. He had
the opportunity to practice medicine in several countries
before migrating to Australia. This gave him the
experience of dealing with a wide range of medical
presentations and cultural varieties.
Dr Serhan has been practicing medicine in Australia
since 2001 and is a Fellow of The Royal Australian
College of General Practitioners. He enjoys all aspects of
family medicine from child health and immunisations
through to Women and Mens health and aged care.
Also, pre-employment assessments and work related
injuries, sport injuries, mental health and travel
vaccinations.
He has a particular interest in skin cancers and other
skin diseases. He has had extensive training and
education in the field of diagnosis and management of
skin cancers.
