6) MOTIVATION

Motivation
Meaning: desire, driving force, to move
Motivation include 3 common characteristics:
1.
It concerns with what activates human behavior.
2.
It involves what directs this behavior toward a
particular goal.
3.
Motivation concerns how this behavior is
sustained / supported

There are many systems and theories of motivation (for example see
'see also' below). But what if we look deeper? What are the internal
structures that lead to us acting (as opposed, perhaps, to not
acting). Here key systems:
Needs: are the pre-programmed drivers that evolution has given us.
Emotions : are the fundamental internal systems that kick us into
action.
Beliefs: are 'assumed truths' on which our understanding of the
world is founded.
Values: are the social rules that we live by that enable our tribal
societies to function.
Goals: that we set ourselves to achieve our needs.
Interest: those things that attract our attention.
Motivating gaps: It's the gaps that drive us forward.

7) ISTIKHARAH

Istikharah
Meaning:

The process
of making choices based on
the guidance from Allah

The concept of Qadha dan Qadhar

Allah is the creator / originator / ultimate power
of life
Man is the best of all creation.
Allah gives all the best to the man
Man as vicegerent
Man cannot avoid Allahs work
Allah ask man to work in this world ( amal soleh)
Allah did not make any change to the Qadhar of
man until man change what is in himself
Types of work: Doa / work
Lives as trust from Allah

The Good and Bad

Good Qadha (Fate)
Syukur / thankfulness to Allah
Use to only the good things
As reward to the effort
Bad Fate
Patience, perseverance (sabar)
Thankfulness
As milestone to be better for the next time

The Importance of Istikharah

Will never regret
The actual needs / result
Avoid the wrong decision
Man didnt know the future of their lives
(Insya Allah)
Man cannot predict their future (Insya Allah)
The wrong decision will brings problems

The Process
Have a clear things to do with the selection
Without bias
Have a clear explanations/reasons for each
selection
Without any contrast with the Quran and Hadith
Have a right concept of Qadha and Qadhar
Did not make any selection yet
Ask Allah to do the best selection
Pray
Doa / pray to Allah by reciting the confusion
things.
