Setup & Use


To Use Our New KM Document Flow
System, We Must Install & Use the
Scanner File Utility

Installing DB Assistant Software Utility


Confirm DataBase Connection Icon at the Scanner Operation Panel Appears
If Icon Does Not Appear, Change Default Setting to On Using Simulation 510
Input the IP Address of the DB Assistant Server PC at the Scanner Default
Install the Scanner File Utility & Create A Destination Folder at the Server
Install the Address Book & Editor & Input the Folder Destinations
Install Data Base Assistant to Setup the KM Document Flow System

Setup & Use

Create Main/Sub Folders & Save Them Within Your


Hard Disk Both Main & Sub Folders Can Be Selected
from the Scanner Operational Panel Once Set Up is
Complete for Destination PCs, However Only Main
Folders Will Be Seen When Sending Scans to Database
Destinations
Add Folders to PaperPort 8.0 for
Editing & Document Management
Create a Network Path to the
Created Folders Using the
Scanner File Utility Version 3.2

Create Destination Folders Using the Scanner File Utility


Software By Clicking on Its Icon & Setup
Click OK after using the
Scanner File Utility & Do
NOT Click Close.
The Scanner File Utility Will
Open When A User Clicks
Open After a Scan Reception
Notice is Received & the
User Can Click on the Scan
File They Intend to Open

Next Click On New & The Folder Setting Window Will Open

Input a Folder # from 1-100 here

Check Here to Receive Scan Reception Notices Select the Folder Destination

Click on the Data Base Assistant Icon at the Bottom


Right Corner of the PC Desktop & DB Assistant Opens

Click on Configuration to Set Up A Data Base Scan

Click On New to Create a New Folder & Make Sure to


Use the Same Save Number that Was Used for the Scan
to PC File Utility Folder Created Before
After Creating the
Folder Destination
Name, Add the IP
Address of the PC
that Contains the
Folder. After
Inputting the Folder
#, Click OK.

Double Click on Default Settings Tab to Change the


Scanning Resolution, File Type & other Default Settings

Click on File, New & Data Base to Create a New


Destination in a Data Base (Notes or SQL) Server

Window Below After Successful Creation

Double Click On Access Settings To Determine Who Will


Have Access to Scan Data to Each Destination

Click on File Information & Double Click On Key Word


to Set Up Key Word Indexes to Be Sent With Scans

Click on File Information & Double Click On Creator to


Set Up Creator Names to Be Sent With Scans
Click on New, Add the Name & Click on Apply to Add

After Key Word Indexes & Creator Names Have Been


Added from DB Assistant, They Will Appear At the
Operation Panel & Can Be Selected According to Scan
Categories. Additional Title Info Can Easily Be Added
for More Specific Search Purposes Using PaperPort 8.0s
