An intelligent computer programme that uses
knowledge and reasoning procedures to solve difficult
problems that need certain expertise to solve the
problems.
An expert is a person that has the expertise and
knowledge of his specialised field. Examples of experts
are a heart specialist and a mathematics expert.
Objective of an expert system
To transfer expertise from an expert to a computer
system and

To enable the use of expertise after working
hours or at different locations.
