INTRODUCTION
Multilevel inverters are used in high power
applications .
Generate a stepped voltage waveform by using
a number of dc voltage sources
Need of filters is reduced by increasing the
voltage level

PROPOSED TOPOLOGY
By adding two unidirectional power switches and
one dc voltage source obtain Developed H-bridge
inverter
Simultaneous turn-on of SL,1 and SL,2 or SR,1 and
SR,2 causes the voltage sources to short-circuit
If the values of the dc voltage sources are equal, the
number of voltage levels decreases to three.

Other important parameters the variety of
value of the blocking voltage of the switches
Total cost of a Multilevel Inverter decreases by
reducing the variety of dc voltage sources
Nvariety = 2n.

Nswitch = 4n + 2
Nsource = 2n
Vo,max = VL,n + VR,n.

PROPOSED ALGORITHM
Algorithm is applied to determine the
magnitude of dc voltage sources
It is important to note that all voltage levels
(even and odd) can be generated.

CALCULATION OF LOSSES
Mainly, two kinds of losses conduction and
switching losses are associated
Switches include IGBTs and diodes
The conduction losses of an IGBT pc,IGBT(t)
and a diode pc,D(t) are calculated

CONCLUSIONS
Harmonics is reduced
By adding two switches for H-bridge inverters
to generate seven voltage levels
Comparison results shows, the proposed
topology requires a lesser number of IGBTs.
