Theory & Mechanism of Mind

Theory of Mind is the branch of cognitive
science
It investigates how we ascribe mental states.
How we use the states to explain and predict
the actions of those other persons.
Mindreading and ascription plays a vital role.
Mind reading is a Psychological technique
applied in diagnosis of psychologically ill
people and stressed at some times.

Heuristic Approach
People either use heuristics and
short-cuts in decision-making .
They systematically process the
merits and demerits of a given
argument.
Heuristics include our own emotions
as we ask How do I feel about this?

Heuristic Approach
Heuristic processing is more likely when:
Careful thought is likely to generate judgment confidence.
The message is uncertain or unexpected and more thought
is needed to work out what it means.
The message is particularly relevant to the person, such as
when it is about them personally or about their goals or
interests.
The person does not agree with the message or feels
threatened, and is seeking to resist any persuasive
attempts.

Actions Support Creative Thinking

Stress the importance of Creativity
Make time for Brainstorming
Actively solicit ideas
Train them in innovation techniques
Sparkle ideas that erupt out creativity.

Actions Support Creative Thinking

Challenge the style of Work
Be supportive for Creative ideas
Tolerate the mistakes
Reward the Creative Ideas
Act on Ideas

Visual Analysis
Visual analysis is the basic unit of art historical
writing.
Sources as varied as art magazines, scholarly
books, and undergraduate research papers rely on
concise and detailed visual analyses.
You may encounter a visual analysis as an
assignment itself; or you may write one as part of a
longer research paper.

Elements of Design
LINE
Line can be considered in two ways. The
linear marks made with a pen or brush or the
edge created when two shapes meet.
SHAPE
A shape is a self contained defined area of
geometric or organic form. A positive shape in
a painting automatically creates a negative
shape.

Elements of Design
DIRECTION
All lines have direction - Horizontal, Vertical or Oblique. Horizontal
suggests calmness, stability and tranquillity. Vertical gives a feeling of
balance, formality and alertness. Oblique suggests movement and
action
SIZE
Elements of Design
Size is simply the relationship of the area occupied by one shape to
that of another.
TEXTURE
Texture is the surface quality of a shape - rough, smooth, soft hard
glossy etc. Texture can be physical (tactile) or visual.
COLOUR
Also called Hue

Spatial Relationships
A spatial relation, specifies how some object
is located in space in relation to some
reference object.
When the reference object is much bigger than
the object to locate, the latter is often
represented by a point.
The reference object is often represented by
a bounding box.

Procedure for Genuine Graphic

Computer Animations
ComputerAnimations are pictures and movies cr
eated
using computers usually
referring
to image data created by a computer specifically
with help from specialized graphical hardware and
software.
Important topics in computer animations
include user
interface
design, sprite
graphics, vector
graphics, 3D
modeling, shaders, GPU design,
and computer
vision, among others.

Animation Aerodynamics
Methods based on aerodynamics are
developed to simulate and control the motion
of objects in fluid flows.
To simplify the physics for animation, the
problem is broken down into two parts: a fluid
flow regime and an object boundary regime.
With this simplification one can approximate
the realistic behaviour of objects moving in
liquids or air.

Scientific Visualizations in Virtual

Environments
Scientific visualization, thanks to three-dimensional and
immersive applications, has become an essential tool in the
analysis and quick and deep understanding of very complex
phenomena.
Researchers can literally immerse themselves into their
numerical simulation, and can use images to more effectively
disseminate the results of their researches.
Large amounts of data, through three-dimensional immersive
visualization produced using high-performance computing
systems.

Unifying Principles
Design Projects to Bring Out Creativity
Create a Culture that Promotes Creativity and
Innovation
Scaffold for Creativity and Innovation
Define the Creative Challenge
Identify Sources of Information
Generate and Select Ideas
Present Work to Users/Target Audience

Visualization Benchmarking
Management Practices allowing freedom and
autonomy in the practice of work;
Providing challenge; specifying clear strategic goals
and forming work teams comprised of individuals
with diverse skills and perspectives.
