DISABILITY and SEXUALITY

FACT
PWD are sexual , so are children with disabilities
A child with disability is more prone to develop
inappropriate sexual behaviour.
A child who does not understand sexuality and abuse
is
less able to recognise or report abusive situations
more easily coerced or manipulated by others for
their daily needs such as bathing, toileting etc.

18.05.10

PWDs are living longer and are choosing

to marry or become sexually involved.
As a consequence of the increased choice
and opportunity, children and adolescents
with disabilities have a genuine need to
learn about sexuality

18.05.10

Goals of sexuality education
