but then decided to become a teacher. I am a math co-teacher at Three

What is your favorite quote or inspirational saying?

When I was 5 years old, my mother always told me that happiness was the
key to life. When I went to school, they asked me what I wanted to be when I
grew up, I wrote down happy. They told me I didnt understand the
assignment, and I told them they didnt understand life. -Anonymous

What is your favorite movie and why is it your favorite?

Honestly, I do not have a favorite movie. However, I do have a favorite book.
Frankenstein was the first book that I ever had to dissect for an
undergraduate class. It is an incredible adventure and a fantastic read.

ACADEMIC HISTORY
Academic Background
When I was in grade and secondary school, I was never at the top of my
class nor at the bottom. I always seemed to be the one who fell through the
cracks. I struggled with reading and how to overcome the barriers that came
with learning. I was a great student my teachers said, but it was because of
my behavior not my academic progress. In high school, I was drawn to the
arts: acting, singing, and basic dance. I thought I could hid my academic
struggles in my talents. It was not until college where I began to prove myself
academically. It took a professor in school, who was known to be very critical,
for me to believe I was a great writer. She gave me the confidence to try
harder and not underestimate myself.

I am drawn to special education because I want to help struggling learners

can do.

What is your teaching philosophy?

I believe that every individual can be educated. We cannot allow anyone to
keep us from learning or educating ourselves. It is important for us to educate
the young generations on how to value all things and that all things were
brought on by someones education. We are not here to live off the earth and
leave it be when we are gone, but to prepare it for the future. Only education
can help us understand that reason.

Shelley.
