is a procedure to clean babys skin

by luke warm water
PURPOSE
To clean the babys skin and increse
skin integrity
To increase and maintain the proper
blood circulation
To maintain temperature at normal
level
To prevent baby from skin infection

Two bucket-one for dirty water
and other for soiled linen
Bath towel
Towel -1 big and 1 small
Soap with soap dish
Bowel with cotton balls

Spirit

or betadine soaked swab

for cord cleaning
Baby massage oil and baby
powder
Apron
Dress of baby with napkin

Procedure
Explain

procedure
Check temperature and maintain
temperature
Prepare the position of bath table
Keep basin or bath tub one side and
baby cloth another side
Place mackintosh and towel over table
Fill the warm water in the bath tub
Do hand wash and wear apron

If

baby is wet with stool or urine

clean it
Remove baby cloth and wrap
with towel
Clean eye first hand than nose
Clean the inside of ear with rolled
wisp of cotton
Do not apply soap on face,clean
with wet hand
Hold baby in a hand and keep the
baby in football holding method

Dirty

water should discarded

Now unwrap the baby and apply
soap on the body

Care of umbilical cord

Cleaning
Soak a cotton swab in warm
water and mild soap.squeeze out
the excess water.gentaly wipe
around the side of the stump and
the skin around it
Wipe away any wet,sticky,or dirty
substance
Gently pat dry the area with a
soft cloth
