3.2: Inheritance
1. Inheritance is a process of passing genetic
information of characteristic or traits from
parent to offspring.
2. The characteristic that you inherited from your
parent called traits.
3. The gene carries certain information for traits.
4. There are two types of gene group:
a) dominant gene
b) recessive gene
Genotype :
The genetic composition of an organism
Combination of genes it possesses.
Example: HH, Hh, hh
Phenotype :
The characteristic that can be observed or determined.
Example: straight hair, curly hair
Monohybrid Cross
Carried out by Gregor Mendel
To predict the genotype and phenotype ratios of the first
filial generation (F1) and second filial generation (F2)
Figure 3.6 : text book page 56
Mendel then allowed the offspring of F1 generation to
further self fertilised

3. KEJADIAN KEMBAR
Proses persenyawaan berlaku
apabila sebiji ovum
disenyawakan oleh 'seekor'
sperma. Zigot akan terhasil.
Zigot pula membesar sebagai
fetus didalam uterus ibu.
3. KEJADIAN KEMBAR
Kebiasaanya hanya satu zigot
terhasil dari persenyawaan. Ini
adalah kerana kebiasaannya
wanita menghasilkan sebiji
ovum setiap bulan.
3. KEJADIAN KEMBAR
Walau bagaimanapun kadang kala lebih
dari satu fetus terbentuk. Kejadian
yang menakjubkan ini akan
menghasilkan kembar. Pada asasnya
terdapat 2 jenis kembar. Oopp...ada 3
sebenarnya. Kembar itu ialah 1
kembar seiras (identical twins) dan
kembar tak seiras (non-identical).
3. KEJADIAN KEMBAR
Mari lihat perbezaan kembar
seiras dan tak seiras. Jadual
dibawah akan menerangkannya
dengan jelas kepada anda.
3. KEJADIAN KEMBAR
SEIRAS
TAK SEIRAS
3. KEJADIAN KEMBAR
Kembar yang satu lagi ialah 3 kembar
siam (Siamese Twins). Kembar siam
berpunca dari kejadian kembar seiras.
Fetus yang membahagi dua kadangkala
tidak berpecah sepenuhnya. Oleh itu
kembar itu bercantum pada bahagian
tertentu seperti pada dada atau sisi.
Kesian ya kembar ni...
Twin
1. There are two types of twins.
a) identical twin
b) non identical twin
2. Identical twin are formed when one sperm
and one ovum fertillised.
3. Then it produced zygote and after that
zygote will split into two to form two
embryos.
4. Both embryos will develop into two foetus
and they share with same placenta for
take a feed from their mother.
4. MUTASI
Semasa proses pembahagian sel,
terdapat beberapa kes dimana
terdapat kecacatan pada sel.
Kejadian ini digelar sebagai mutasi
(Mutation). Mutasi boleh
mempengaruhi kehidupan
organisma.
4. MUTASI
Mari kita mengkaji mutasi secara
mendalam.
Mutasi berlaku apabila struktur gen
atau kromosom berubah secara
spontan.
Para saintis genetik telah
mengenalpasti 2 jenis mutasi iaitu
mutasi gen dan mutasi kromosom.
4. MUTASI
Mutasi gen
Berlaku apabila bahan kimia
DNA berubah. Perubahan ini
akan menyebabkan ciri
organisma berubah
4. MUTASI
Mutasi kromosom
Mutasi kromosom pula berlaku
apabila bilangan kromosom
berubah.
4. MUTASI
Kita telah mengetahui bahawa manusia
mempunyai 46 kromosom. Gamet
(sperma atau ovum) pula mempunyai
23 kromosom. Jika mutasi kromosom
berlaku, sperma atau ovum mungkin
membawa 22 atau 24 kromosom. Anak
yang terhasil dari persenyawaan gamet
ini akan mempunyai ciri yang amat
berbeza dari ibu bapa.
4. MUTASI
MUTASI GEN
MUTASI KROMOSOM
4. MUTASI
Setakat ini para saintis sungguh berminat
untuk mengkaji tentang faktor yang
menyebabkan mutasi. Antara faktor yang
telah dikenalpasti ialah pengaruh bahan
kimia beracun dan sinaran radioaktif.
Pada masa yang sama saintis juga
menggunakan pengetahuan ini untuk
menghasilkan baka organisma baru
menggunakan proses "mutasi buatan
4. MUTASI
Contohnya saintis bidang pertanian telah
berjaya menghasilkan jagung yang tahan
penyakit.
Ini dinamakan "pembiakbakaan".
Pembiakbakaan adalah merupakan satu
bidang didalam penyelidikan genetik.
Negara kita bergiat cergas dalam aktiviti
penyelidikan genetik.
3.4: Mutation
1. Mutation is a spontaeous random change
in genetic material ( genes or
chromosomes) of a cell.
2. If a mutation happen in the formation of a
gametes or during meiosis the effect will
be inherited by the offspring.
3. Two types of mutation :
i. gene mutation
ii. Chromosomes mutation.
Gene mutation
1. It is a change that occurs in the chemical
structure of a gene.
2. Example of gene mutation:
a. colourblindness that the person cannot
differentiate colours such as red and green.
b. albinism that mean the animal or human being
have no colour in their skin, hair or eyes.
c. Thalassaemia that mean the persons blood are
abnormal form..
Chromosomes mutation
1. Chromosome mutation is the change of gene sequence in a
chromosome or the change in the number of chromosome.
2. Example of chromosomes mutation are:
A . Downs syndrome :
i. where the person have extra chromosome and is pair at 21.
The number of chromosomes are 47.
ii. Their face are look like monggolian, mental problem,
slanting eyes, shorter stature and shorter life.
B. Klinefelters syndrome:
i. effect to the men in which an individual gains an extra X
chromosomes. So the sex chromosomes are XXY.
ii. The symptom such as underdeveloped testes, infertility
and some female may cause breast enlargment.
C. Turners syndrome:
i. effect to the women/ female where they absence of the
second sex chromosome. So the sex chromosomes are XO
rather than the normal XX.

5. KEPENTINGAN PENYELIDIKAN
GENETIK KEPADA SEMUA
1 Penyelidikan genetik telah banyak
memberikan sumbangan kepada
bidang perubatan dan pertanian.
2 Dalam bidang perubatan, penyelidikan
genetik membantu pengenalpastian
pelbagai penyakit baka dan
pencegahan penyakit tersebut.
5. KEPENTINGAN PENYELIDIKAN
GENETIK KEPADA SEMUA
3 Dalam bidang pertanian, penyelidikan
genetik bertujuan untuk:
(a) memperbaik mutu baka melalui
proses pembiakbakaan.
(b) mewujudkan spesies baru yang
mempunyai daya ketahanan yang
lebih tinggi terhadap penyakit atau
haiwan perosak.
(c) mendapatkan penghasilan tanaman
dan temakan dalam kuantiti yang
banyak dalam masa yang singkat.
5. KEPENTINGAN PENYELIDIKAN
GENETIK KEPADA SEMUA
Pengklonan ialah teknik menghasilkan
organisma yang serupa dengan induk.
Pengetahuan mengenai pengklonan
penting. Kita boleh menghasilkan haiwan
ternakan yang mempunyai kualiti yang
sama. Kita telah mengetahui tentang
akibat buruk mutasi. Dengan adanya
penyelidikan genetik, kita boleh
mengetahui pelbagai sebab penyakit
baka dan seterusnya boleh mengatasinya.
5. KEPENTINGAN PENYELIDIKAN
GENETIK KEPADA SEMUA
Tahukah anda bahawa terdapat
beberapa ubat dihasilkan dari kulat dan
bakteria?. Kulat dan bakteria ini telah
diubah kandungan gennya supaya
boleh menghasilkan ubat (antibiotik).
5. KEPENTINGAN PENYELIDIKAN
GENETIK KEPADA SEMUA
Dalam bidang pertanian, pembiakbakaan
bertujuan menghasilkan baka (tumbuhan
atau haiwan) yang baik. Ciri baka yang baik
ialah : tahan penyakit
boleh menyesuaikan diri kepada persekitaran
mengeluarkan hasil banyak
hasil yang lebih enak
masa matang yang pendek
Sekali lagi....variasi
ialah kepelbagaian
benda hidup
