Introduction
According to several study, turmeric's main compound,
known as curcumin, has shown potential in modulating
of immune response
Modulation of the immune system are currently being
developed for the treatment of systemic lupus
erythematosus (SLE)
Renal complication is found in most patients with SLE,
and the main goal of therapy is to prevent the
progressive loss of renal function

Methods
Pristane-induce
Lupus

Twenty four female Balb/c mice were given single

injection of 0.5 ml pristane intraperitoneally to induce
lupus manifestations

Curcumin

16th weeks after pristane injection, mice were devided

into 4 groups:
- control group (no curcumin)
- group 1 (12.5 mg/kgBW/day curcumin)
- group 2 (50 mg/kgBW/day curcumin)
- group 3 (200 mg/kgBW/day curcumin)
Curcumin were given orally every day for 16 weeks

Results

Proteinuria
Histopathological analyses of the kidney, including
classification, activity index, and chronicity index of
lupus nephritis
