1. Give individual work.

Situation:
The pupils were given group work. However, not all of the
group members were contributing/involving themselves into
the group discussion.
Improvement:
Ask the pupils to complete their task individually. Give each
pupils an individual worksheet.

Rationale:
Nobody are excluded.
Each student can be assessed individually
based on the answers they give.
Easier for the teacher to record their
achievement and mastery level.

2. Give a real group

work.
Situation:
The pupils were given group work. However, not all of the
group members were contributing/involving themselves into
the group discussion.
Improvement:
Give each member in the group a task sheet. Ask them to
discuss the answers as a group. They will have to complete
their own task sheet according to the answers they had
discuss
Assess individual, as well as group, learning and
performance.
Rationale:
Group work =

al is achieved.

3. Give a coherent assessment

to what is taught.
Situation:
In the lesson, the teacher gave more explanation on the
difficult words instead of focusing on the sequence of the story
(which is the items she was supposed to assess).
Improvement:
The teacher need to be clear to what she was assessing and
thus, plan a more coherent lesson..

Rationale:
Unfair for the pupils.

3. Give a performance
assessment.

Situation:
The teacher use worksheet which is a traditional assessment
and not an authentic assessment.
Improvement:
The teacher can conduct a performance-based assessment
such as role play by integrating relatable real life context to
give the pupils a meaningful learning experience.

Rationale:
"Performance assessments call upon the examinee
to demonstrate specific skills and competencies,
that is, to apply the skills and knowledge they have
mastered." (Richard J. Stiggins)
Including real life context into the lesson gives a
more meaningful learning experience that leads to
a more effective lesson.

Multiple-choice tests, fill-in-the-blanks, true

false, matching and the one that have been and
remain so common in education. Students
typically select an answer or recall information
to complete the assessment. These tests may be
standardized or teacher-created. They may be
administered locally or statewide, or
internationally.
