Learning Objectives:
Students will be able to describe the important body parts
that all insects have.
Students will understand what an insect has and can do.
Students will be able to compare/contrast insects to other
animals in various animal groups (i.e. mammals,
amphibians, birds, fish, reptiles).
Standard:
Standard 2.L.5: The student will demonstrate an
understanding of how the structures of animals help them
survive and grow in their environments.

insects skeleton is on
the outside of its body?

This makes it hard for


insects to grow. Every
time they start to get
bigger, they have to
break out of their old skin
and then wait for a new
skin to harden! This is
called MOLTING.
