Why Midsummer?
Midsummer night is the shortest night of the year.
In England there were celebrations on this night- bonfires,
parties, and parades with people dressing up.
Herbs were burned to celebrate the triumph of light over
darkness.
Many thought this was a magical night, where confusion
and mistakes could occur.
