Aim of the project

To develop a circuit which detects a

cell phone or mobile phone.
To create awareness among people by
securing the places where cell phone
or mobile phones are not allowed.

MLRIT

Vision & Mission

VISION
To build and create awareness among the people to
secure where the place is highly confidential or a place
where cellphones are not allowed.

MLRIT

Mission
To build a circuit which detects a cell phone present
very near to its surroundings

MLRIT

ABSTRACT
The circuit detects a activated mobile phone
in a distance of 60cm .
We can prevent use of mobile phones in
examination hall , confidential rooms etc.
And to secure those places.
The moment the circuit detects RF
transmission signal from an activated mobile
phone , it gives a beep alarm and the LED
blinks

INTRODUCTION

Cell phone has become one of the

necessities in our day to day life

With this increase demand in cell

phones , these are stolen or sometimes
misplaced by us which makes us very
difficult to find them back

Prototype Description
* Our circuit works when there is an
incoming or outgoing signal to cell phone.
* In this circuit the IC-CA3130 is used as
amplifier.
* It detects the frequencies in the range of 0.9
to 3GHZ.

Here the circuit uses 0.22uf disk

capacitor(c3) to capture the RF signals
form the mobile phone.
The op-amp IC CA3130 is used in the
circuit as a current to voltage converter.

When the mobile phone signal is

detected by C3,the output of
IC1nbecomes high and low
alternately according to the
frequency of the signal as indicated
by LED.
This triggers the timer 555
IC2(LM555).

STRATEGIC ISSUES
Explore Capacitors , Inductors , ICs etcrelated to circuit
creation.
Exploring MULTISIM software and using it in testing the
developed device.
Un availabilty of IC-LM555 and IC-CA3130 in the market.
Assembling and testing of the device .

SWOT ANALYSIS
STRENGTHS

WEAKNESS

OPPORTUNITIES

It provide security by
detecting the mobile
phones within the range
where the place is highly
confidential.

Its strength is its

weakness .It cannot
detect mobile which
is not in range.

THREATS

Radiations may be
evolved while using
this device.

This does not limit

detecting mobile
devices but
unfortunately
detects any
electronic device
with in that range.

CONCLUSION
This mobile detector or sniffer can sense the
presence of an activated mobile phone from a
certain distance. So it can be use to prevent use
of mobile phones in examination halls,
confidential rooms.

FUTURE SCOPE
The prototype version has only limited range of
15centimeters.But if a preamplifier stage using
JFET(Junction gate Field-Effect Transistor) or
MOSFET (Metal Oxide Semiconductor Field
Effect transistor) is used as an interface
between the capacitor and IC, range can be
increased(>60cm)
