An adjective is a word that describes/modifies a noun or pronoun

EXAMPLES:

His huge, sharp teeth

Adverbs describe/modify verbs.
EXAMPLES:

Jose was quietly going out the door.

Glendale was torn down slowly.
Tony spoke slowly.
Katie jumped high.
