CODES AND CONVENTIONS

The magazine features typical conventions found in fashion magazines, such as

articles about fashion and numerous pages on new trends, styles, designers
and whats on the catwalk.
-Masthead: the masthead of a magazine is probably the most important and
eye catching part of it, alongside with the actual model. It is the title block for
the magazine. Sometimes, when the magazine is very well known, it can afford
for the model to be covering the title, because the readers already know about
this magazine e.g. Vogue is one to do this a lot.
-Main image: In vogue they use a central image which is most dominant on
the page and it is used to attract the readers by the image.
- Main cover line: This is the second biggest text on the page, and it is easily
recognised. The font is typically large and bold and placed on the sweet spot on
the page which is a place on the cover which is very clear to the audience.
-Tag line: A tagline is used as a way to promote the magazine and is usually
used underneath the mast head on the cover.
