EXERCISE 01:

This exercise is aimed at refreshing the


important concept of free body diagram and
formulation of equilibrium equation.

-The first part is about drawing of Free Body


Diagram (FBD)

-The second part is about solution of unknown


force by using principle of statics. Also, it is
about how to make use of the relevant equation
to solve the problem given.
(1) Uprighting of Costa Concordia

You may check online about this incidence which


happened on 13 Jan 2012. A salvaging project was
initiated to get the ship upright again before towing it away.
