for your media product?

Evaluation Activity 4
 The BBFC for our production, Escape, is a 15. This is due to
the reason that we feel individuals who are over the age of
15 are able to relate to the characters in our production
than those who are younger than 15, also it may not be
appropriate for individuals under the age of 15 due to the
violence and gore. Furthermore, an 18 would be too high
as our production is mainly aimed at teenagers and above,
as due to the storyline and characters. On the other hand, a
12 is too young due to the violence and gore that is in the
production, as well as the scary sound effects used will play
with kids primal fears, which could cause problems for the
younger individual mentally.

 General Teenagers
As shown in the last few slides there are many teenagers in
the pictures. Most of them share the same preferences and
likes such as the fact that most candidates I interviewed
loved to watch horror films. The picture do not only contain
young teenagers, but older individuals as well. This target
audience ranges in terms of their age, ethnicity and likes.
After completing my genre research, I had found out that
many horror films that are made go under the BBFC 15, due
to the violence and gore, which I though would be suitable
for our production.

I though the ending of the production was very well presented and
executed. The antagonist reminded me of a typical killer from a horror
movie, such as Jason Voorhees from Friday the 13th, which made me
enjoy the film even more.

was very good, and overall I understood and enjoyed the storyline.

The main concept of the idea was amazing and the build up of
suspense and tension made the film very interesting to watch.
 Why would they watch our film?
As the majority of our target audience were teenagers we
thought that they would be more likely to relate to our
teenage protagonist (John Royce). Also, there is a lot of
individuals who are interested in the horror genre as they
enjoy the adrenaline rush and the suspenseful aspect of the
genre. Most of the individuals who I had interviewed said
they would like to watch a horror film as they may have
good personal experience from the films and this ensures
that they would have a keen interest in our film.
